Position Overview

Hiring CNC Operators for All Shifts!!

CNC Machine Operators are responsible for all aspects of machine setup, and operate conventional manual, special purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines on repetitive jobs to fabricate parts, managing daily programs and running the machines. CNC Machine Operators are responsible for maintaining equipment, inventory of materials and supplies, and can assist in training new employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate CNC machines or machining centers to perform various machine functions such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic work piece.
2. Utilize knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machining of materials, and shop math. Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data.
3. Measure work pieces for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as micrometers, optical comparator, dial indicators, calipers, and other various attribute and dimensional precision gages.
4. Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
5. Enters commands or manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
6. Responsible for maintaining clean, neat and organized work area.
7. Shares ideas and knowledge with other operators.
8. Follow all pertinent procedures and work instructions.

Skills and Experience

• 1+ years experience in a precision machining environment or CNC training.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to handle all basic CNC machining operations including changing inserts, touching off tools and making offsets.
• Ability to use common shop measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers and gauges) to complete inspection documentation.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
