Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc seeks a CNC Machine Operator - Floater for the Day Shift in Graniteville, SC. The role involves operating CNC HELLER centers, reading blueprints, and assembling engine components. Relocation assistance is provided where applicable, with a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Two years of technical training or five years in heavy machining is preferred; candidates must be US‑authorized to work. Shift flexibility and overtime are required. Location: Graniteville, SC.

Qualifications

• 2 years in a mechanical, maintenance or machining trade school or equivalent Associate’s Degree; or 5 years of experience in a heavy-duty machining environment.
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sub-systems and cubic engine components using tools, gauges, Loctite, liquid nitrogen, lubricants and specialized equipment.
• Operate CNC HELLER machining centers with Siemens 840D controllers according to instructions and production requirements.
• Read, study and interpret blueprints, instructions, specifications, job orders, routings and control plans to determine operation sequences.
• Compile workpieces and materials per specifications; inspect, document and report defects.
• Select materials and tooling required for machining and assembly of cubic engine components.

What you will be doing:

• Compile workpieces, components, and materials per specifications; inspect, document, and report defects.
• Select appropriate materials and tooling required for machining and assembly of cubic engine components..

Basic Requirements:

• 2 years in a mechanical, maintenance or machining trade school or equivalent Associate’s Degree; or 5 years of experience in a heavy-duty machining environment.
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.

Preferred Requirements:

• Intermediate knowledge of CNC-controls (preferred SIEMENS 840 D Controllers) machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Intermediate ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communications
• Intermediate knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods (Quality Alerts, Second Checks,etc.)
• Intermediate knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations orstandards
• Intermediate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills where problems are complex
