Job summary

Rolls-Royce Power Systems in Aiken, SC is seeking a CNC Machine Operator - Floater- Off Shift to perform precision machining on cubic engine components. The role runs Monday through Thursday 7:30pm–6:00am with training on the same shift, and relocation assistance is provided if applicable.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of machining education or 5 years heavy‑duty machining experience, and possess knowledge of Siemens 840D controls.

Qualifications

• 2 years in a mechanical, maintenance or machining trade school or equivalent Associate’s Degree; or 5 years of experience in a heavy‑duty machining environment.
• Shift: Working Shift - Off Shift - Monday -Thursday 7:30pm to 6:00 am, Training on same shift.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sub-systems and cubic engine components using tools, gauges, Loctite, liquid nitrogen, lubricants and equipment.
• Operate CNC HELLER machining centers with Siemens 840D controllers per routing and drawings.
• Read blueprints and control plans to determine sequences, setups and requirements.
• Compile workpieces and inspect, document and report defects.
• Select materials and tooling for machining and assembly of engine components.

What you will be doing:

• Assemble sub-systems and cubic engine components using various tools, gauges, devices, Loctite, liquid nitrogen, lubricants, and specialized equipment.
• Operate CNC HELLER machining centers with Siemens 840D controllers according to instructions, routings, control plans, production requirements, and diagrams.
• Read, study, and interpret blueprints, machining/assembly instructions, specifications manuals, job orders, routings, and control plans to determine sequences of operations, setups, and requirements.
• Compile workpieces, components, and materials per specifications; inspect, document, and report defects.
• Select appropriate materials and tooling required for machining and assembly of cubic engine components.

Basic Requirements:

• 2 years in a mechanical, maintenance or machining trade school or equivalent Associate’s Degree; or 5 years of experience in a heavy‑duty machining environment
• Shift: Working Shift - Off Shift - Monday -Thursday 7:30pm to 6:00 am, Training will take place on the same shift as the working shift.
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.

Preferred Requirements:

• Intermediate knowledge of CNC‑controls (preferred SIEMENS 840 D Controllers) machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Intermediate ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communications
• Intermediate knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods (Quality Alerts, Second Checks, etc.)
• Intermediate knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards
• Intermediate troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills where problems are complex
