Job summary

Chief Buildings in Lancaster, South Carolina, is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up, program (as required), and operate CNC work centers for punching, shear ing, or forming operations, ensuring precision and efficiency in fabrication.

You will read engineering drawings, select and adjust tools, fabricate parts to spec, handle materials safely, and maintain accurate production records. This full-time role follows a 2nd shift schedule: 7:30pm–6:00am, with full company benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are essential.
• Experience working with CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will set up, program (as required), and operate one or more CNC work centers to perform punching, shearing, or forming operations. You’ll play a key role in ensuring precision and efficiency in the fabrication process. To be successful in this position, you should have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working with CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Select and adjust machine tools, jigs, and fixtures; perform authorized maintenance as needed.
• Fabricate parts to specification using engineering drawings and precision measuring tools.
• Move materials using forklifts, hoists, overhead cranes, or manual handling.
• Accurately complete production records and maintain inventory data integrity.

Education

• High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.

Shift

• 2nd: 7:30pm- 6:00am

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for creating a collaborative, safe and hazard‑free environment that is driven by employee involvement. Qualifications

Required

3 years:

1-3 Years of related experience or the equivalent.

Preferred

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Proficiency with fractions and decimals.

Knowledge of metal fabrication operations and CNC methods, typically gained through technical education.
