Job summary

Chief Fabrication in Grand Island, NE, is seeking a drafting technician to support production with drawings, routings, and work instructions. You will interact with internal customers and perform product programming and nesting using various software.

Responsibilities include verifying tooling, clarifying specifications, creating drawings, writing work instructions, and developing CNC programs for punching and cutting systems. 1–3 years of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Drafting and computer skills and the ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
• 1-3 years related experience or the equivalent.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

• Verifies machine tooling exists for necessary production operations and designs or sources new tooling when required.
• Clarifies quotation information or engineering change information and customer specifications for production operators.
• Creates drawings or modifies customer drawings as necessary.
• Writes work instructions on complex operations or processes.
• Creates CNC programs for punching and cutting systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
