Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment, including plasma cutters and beam lines.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints and work orders.
• Load and secure steel beams and plates using overhead cranes and rigging.
• Monitor machine operation and adjust for accuracy and quality.
• Use measuring tools to verify tolerances.
• Make basic programming edits for different material sizes and thicknesses.
• Perform routine maintenance and Troubleshoot CNC equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment following OSHA standards.

CNC Machine Operator

Location: York, PA
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift: 2nd Shift
Pay: Starting at $23.00/hour + $3.00/hour night differential
Higher pay may be available depending on experience.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator to set up and operate CNC equipment used to process structural steel components. The ideal candidate has structural steel fabrication experience, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to read shop drawings and work accurately with precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment, including plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Load and secure steel beams, plates, and other materials using overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
• Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.
• Use tape measures, calipers, squares, and other precision measuring tools to verify tolerances.
• Make basic programming edits and adjustments for different material sizes and thicknesses.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot CNC equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment following OSHA and shop safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
• 2+ years of CNC machine operation experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
