Job Description:
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for the operation, programming, and maintenance of CNC machines used in the processing and inspection of aircraft transparencies in a military aerospace environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machines to process materials for aircraft transparencies, ensuring adherence to established procedures and safety protocols.
- Set up and understand CNC machines according to engineering specifications and production requirements, making necessary adjustments to equipment offsets to optimize performance.
- Maintain and inspect tooling and fixtures used in CNC machining, ensuring they are in good condition and properly calibrated for accurate machining.
- Oversee the completion of machining tasks, ensuring that all products are produced to the required specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished products using appropriate measuring instruments and visual assessments to ensure compliance with military quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of machining processes, tool usage, and inspection results.
- Work closely with team members, including supervisors and quality control personnel, to meet production goals and address any issues that arise during the machining process.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environment.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues with CNC machining processes or equipment, making necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and product quality.
Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen
- High school diploma/GED
- Previous experience as a CNC machining operator or in a similar role, particularly in the aerospace or military industry preferred.
- Proficient in operating and adjusting offset with CNC machines.
- Understanding of cutting tools and tooling setups preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise specifications.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
