Responsibilities

• Operate laser cutting machines according to specifications.
• Set up and adjust laser cutting parameters.
• Monitor operations to ensure quality and productivity.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections.

Skills

Basic math calculations

Knowledge of tooling and equipment

Plasma cutting and laser cutting techniques

Quality inspections using micrometers and gauges

Familiarity with GD&T

Job description

Do you like working with your hands? Do you live close to Plainfield? Would you like to be part of building something that affects everyday life? Do you enjoy 3-day weekends? Work Monday through Thursday, 5:00 pm to 3:30 am. Off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

There is also a weekend shift available: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6:00 am to 6:30 pm.

Pay: $19 an hour to start, $20 an hour once hired on, with the possibility of earning up to $23 an hour.

Shifts: 5:00 pm to 3:30 am, Monday through Thursday, or weekend shift Friday through Sunday.

Job duties and requirements include but are not limited to:

• Operate laser cutting machines to cut and shape metal materials according to specifications.
• Set up and adjust laser cutting parameters for different materials and thicknesses.
• Monitor machine operation to ensure quality and productivity.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser cutting equipment.
• Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 20 lbs and a maximum lift of 50 lbs.

What you'll need:

• Proficient in basic math calculations for measurements and dimensions.
• Knowledge of tooling and equipment used in laser cutting operations.
• Experience with plasma cutting and laser cutting techniques.
• Ability to perform quality inspections using tools such as micrometers and gauges.
• Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
• Experience programming and operating CNC machines for laser cutting.
• Knowledge of press brake machines for bending and fabricating metal materials.
