Job description

Job Title: CNC Machine Operator

Location: Batavia, Illinois

Schedule: 6:00am - 2:30pm

Pay Rate: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC machines, including horizontal and vertical mills and lathes, with familiarity in a wide range of production operations.
• Read and interpret complex prints, draw sketches, and recommend corrections for prints.
• Select appropriate feeds and speeds, set up jobs according to prints and procedures, and manage fixtures.
• Participate in initiatives to improve production, service, quality, and safety.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to complete products efficiently.
• Ensure quality standards meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Communicate effectively across channels to share information promptly and accurately.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, complete necessary documentation, and manage tooling and fixtures.
• Perform in-process inspections.
• Be flexible to work in other departments as cross-trained and required.
• Prioritize safety at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Effective communication skills (verbal, written, active listening).
• Strong math, measurement, and comprehension skills.
• Ability to measure using tools like micrometers and calipers, understanding quality specifications.
• Ability to read basic prints, drawings, charts, and graphs.
• Understanding of manufacturing orders and related documents.
• Proficiency with production equipment, hand tools, and testing devices.
• Good mechanical aptitude, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong planning, prioritization, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Computer literacy.
