Job summary

Hydro, Inc. in Chicago seeks a second-shift CNC programmer/operator to program and optimize Mazak lathes with Mazatrol, set up and run lathes and mills, and handle complete setups of large refurbished pump parts.

You'll read prints with GD&T, apply shop math for complex geometry, tune speeds and feeds, verify quality with precision tools, and collaborate with the Hydro shop team while working independently as needed. This role offers strong compensation and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

3+ years of CNC programming on Mazak lathes (Mazatrol).
Ability to set up and operate both lathes and mills.
Strong print reading (including GD&T) and measurement skills.
Shop math proficiency for complex geometry.

Responsibilities

Program and optimize Mazak lathes with Mazatrol.
Modify existing CNC programs for custom components.
Set up and run CNC lathes and mills efficiently.
Handle complete setups for a range of large, refurbished pump parts.
Plan tool layouts and prep raw materials.
Machine raw stock and castings to 0.001" accuracy under safety/quality standards.
Interpret drawings with conventional tolerances and GD&T.
Tune speeds and feeds to drive productivity.
Verify quality using varied precision measuring tools.
Apply math to radii, bolt circles, and related calculations.
Collaborate with the Hydro shop team and work independently as needed.
