Job summary

Joyce/Dayton Corp is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator I to safely and efficiently manufacture precision parts in a fast-paced shop environment. You will read blueprints, set up lathes, install tooling, edit programs with supervision, and inspect first run pieces to ensure conformance with specifications.

You must have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year CNC Lathe experience, OSHA-like safety mindset, and strong communication skills to document processes and coordinate with the Production Supervisor

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year CNC Lathe experience.
• Overhead crane experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read precision measuring equipment.
• Basic blueprint reading skills, feeds and speeds understanding.

Responsibilities

• Work to close tolerances (ie. .0002”).
• Machine metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum; inspect parts during production using precision measuring instruments.
• Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine machining requirements.
• Mount work pieces in chuck, to faceplate, or to fixtures; set up and operate CNC machines using set-up sheets and written instructions.
• Edit pre-written programs with supervision when necessary; troubleshoot as needed.
• Inspect first run piece and spot check succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications.
