Job summary

D&E Machining is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator with 2+ years of experience for full-time on 2nd shift. The position offers a substantial shift differential and involves the day-to-day operation of machining customer parts to print specifications, editing programs to optimize results, and improving machine time and efficiency.

Responsibilities include setting up and running equipment, maintaining tooling, inspecting parts with micrometers/calipers, and performing QA.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years CNC lathe machining experience preferred.
• Ability to read micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices.
• Experience with CMMs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run equipment as assigned.
• Maintain tooling inventory at machine.
• Machine parts to required tolerance on machine drawing.
• Mark material for deposition.
• Perform quality assurance for all parts machined.
• Remove burrs and sharp edges when needed.
• Assist with machine maintenance as directed by Supervisor.
• Assist in training of new operators as needed.
• Participate in ISO-9001 continuous improvement training.
• Maintain clean and safe machine area.
• Fill out inspection logs, travelers, and time slips.
• Upload/download from machine control.
• Participate in business updates.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
