Job summary

Armstrong International is seeking a motivated manufacturing associate in Michigan to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings, set machine parameters, and measure components for quality control.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work in a team, and willingness to learn new procedures in a fast-paced production setting. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds daily.

Qualifications

  • Experience in maintaining attention to detail in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and IFS or related data-entry software.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Detail-oriented, organized and consistent in work
  • Works well as a productive team member.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings and other instructions.
  • Know machine settings and understand measuring equipment for metalworking.
  • Perform tool offsets and minor program changes.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and modify programs as needed.
  • Understand index-able, carbide and high-speed tooling.
  • Inspect work pieces and measure components to ensure conformance with specs.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and adhere to safety procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Lift and move up to 30 pounds, stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Be willing to learn or train in the position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and other written instructions
  • Knowledge of machine settings
  • Understand measuring equipment for metalworking
  • Perform tool offsets & minor program changes
  • Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and modify programs when required
  • Understanding of index-able, carbide, and high-speed tooling
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure components to ensure conformance with specifications
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and adheres to all safety procedures
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance on machines
  • This is a mobile position with typical weightlifting requirements of ten pounds but may be up to fifty pounds periodically. Material handling equipment is used on all heavy loads.
  • Perform quality checks
  • Willingness to learn or train in the position.
  • Must have the physical and mental stamina to stand, walk, lift, and adjust to the noise and lighting of the manufacturing environment.
  • Other duties as assigned and not limited to just the above.
