Job summary

AFL in Duncan, SC is seeking a CNC Lathe & Mill Process Trainer to lead hands-on training for CNC operators. You will train new hires, refresh certified operators, and build operator capability through demonstrations, practice, coaching, and documented qualification.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years CNC machining experience, 3+ years setup, and strong blueprint/GD&T skills. Mazak lathes/mills preferred. This is a shop-floor role with Lean/6S involvement.

Qualifications

• Five years of CNC machining experience.
• Three years of independent CNC setups.
• Proficiency operating both CNC lathes and CNC mills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tolerances, and manufacturing docs.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, shop math, tooling, workholding, and offset adjustment.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathe and mill and run production to maintain proficiency.
• Serve as the primary floor-based trainer for CNC lathe and mill processes.
• Conduct structured hands-on instruction in machine operation, setup, tooling, workholding, offsets, measurement, and inspection.
• Train to Manufacturing Work Instructions, standardized work, safety, quality, and qualification criteria.
• Develop training plans and document progress, guiding trainees through demonstrations and qualifications.
• Assess operator readiness and provide recommendations for certification.
