Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe/Mill Machinist for a local client in Kalispell, MT. The role requires hands-on machining experience, including setups, precision work and adherence to high quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate will operate CNC lathes and mills (both preferred), read blueprints, select appropriate tooling and measure parts using standard inspection tools. Weekly pay and strong staffing support are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC Lathe and/or CNC Mill (both preferred).
• Ability to operate manual mill and lathe is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of: Blueprint reading, tolerances and precision machining.
• Proficient with measuring tools and inspection processes.
• Solid basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.
• Ability to convert between both.
• Ability to work independent and stay organized while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setups using hard jaws, soft jaws, angle plates or other holding techniques.
• Demonstrate efficient machining practices to achieve optimal surface finish, reduced cycle times and minimal setup time.
• Select proper speeds, feeds and tooling for each job.
• Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings, including tolerance requirements.
• Accurately measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges and Go/No-Go gauges.
• Maintain production timelines while ensuring top-quality standards.

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe/Mill Machinist for a reputable local client. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist experienced in setups, precision machining, and maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform machine setups using:

• Hard jaws
• Soft jaws
• Angle plates
• Other appropriate holding and clamping techniques

Demonstrate efficient machining practices to achieve:

• Optimal surface finish
• Reduced cycle times
• Minimal setup time

Select proper speeds, feeds, and tooling for each job

Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings, including tolerance requirements

Accurately measure and inspect parts using:

• Micrometers
• Calipers
• Height gauges
• Go/No-Go gauges

Maintain production timelines while ensuring top-quality standards

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Apply correct machining practices to maximize efficiency and part quality Complete setups within expected timeframes: Simple setups: 15-40 minutes (dependent on prior job setup) Understand tolerance requirements and adjust processes accordingly
