Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe/Mill Machinist for a local Kalispell client. The role requires hands-on experience with setups, precision machining, and maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Day shift, full-time, with weekly pay and supportive staffing. The ideal candidate will read blueprints, select proper speeds/feeds, and expertly measure parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and Go/No-Go gauges to ensure

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC Lathe and/or CNC Mill.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tolerances.
• Strong measuring and inspection skills with standard gauging tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setups using hard jaws, soft jaws, and angle plates; select appropriate holding methods.
• Control machining processes to achieve optimal surface finish and reduced cycle times.
• Set speeds/feeds and tooling per job and inspect parts to spec using gauges.

Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift
Pay: $22/hour

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilledCNC Lathe/Mill Machinist for a reputable local client. This role is ideal for a hands‑on machinist experienced in setups, precision machining, and maintaining high‑quality standards in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform machine setups using:
  
  
  • Hard jaws
  
  
  • Soft jaws
  
  
  • Angle plates
  
  
  • Other appropriate holding and clamping techniques
  
  


• Demonstrate efficient machining practices to achieve:
  
  
  • Optimal surface finish
  
  
  • Reduced cycle times
  
  
  • Minimal setup time
  
  


• Select proper speeds, feeds, and tooling for each job


• Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings, including tolerance requirements


• Accurately measure and inspect parts using:
  
  
  • Micrometers
  
  
  • Calipers
  
  
  • Height gauges
  
  
  • Go/No-Go gauges
  
  


• Maintain production timelines while ensuring top-quality standards

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Apply correct machining practices to maximize efficiency and part quality


• Complete setups within expected timeframes:
  
  
  • Simple setups: 15–40 minutes (dependent on prior job setup)
  
  


• Understand tolerance requirements and adjust processes accordingly

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC Lathe and/or CNC Mill (both preferred)


• Ability to operate manual mill and lathe is highly desirable


• Strong understanding of:

  • Tolerances and precision machining
  
  


• Proficient with measuring tools and inspection processes


• Solid basic math skills, including:
  
  
  • Fractions and decimals
  
  
  • Ability to convert between both
  
  


• Ability to work independently and stay organized while meeting deadlines
