Job summary

nVent is seeking a CNC/ACME/Tool & Die Machinist in Solon, Ohio to set up, operate, and maintain equipment to produce machined parts per blueprints.

You will follow safety procedures, perform quality checks, and document production activities while working in a fast-paced environment. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to procedures, and ability to read technical diagrams.

Qualifications

• Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Prior experience in a light industrial facility.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates ACME / CNC / Tool & Die equipment to produce quality machined parts as specified by blueprints, layout, and templates.
• Plans sequence of operations applying knowledge of materials.
• Performs duties required to assist setup and operate multiple ACME / CNC / Tool & Die equipment simultaneously for a variety of machined products.
• Work from drawings, route sheets, schedules, written, and verbal instructions.
• Check material for correct size and type.
• Use micrometers, calipers, scales, and fixed gauges to check work in process and ensure adherence to specifications.
• Move materials in the performance of duties.
• Install and check safety devices as needed for specific jobs.
• Report faulty equipment, defective material and unusual conditions to supervisor.
• Complete required quality checks/documents and production documentation.
• Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or directed, which may require more than the normal shift hours or work week to meet company needs.
