Job summary

nVent is seeking a CNC / ACME / Tool & Die Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain equipment to produce machined parts according to blueprints. You will read drawings, plan operations, and ensure accuracy while following safety procedures in a dynamic light industrial environment in Solon, Ohio.

The role emphasizes precise measurement using micrometers and calipers, attention to quality, and teamwork to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Experience reading blueprints or following work instructions.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Prior experience in a light industrial facility preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate ACME / CNC / Tool & Die equipment to produce quality machined parts per blueprints, layouts, and templates.
• Plan sequence of operations applying knowledge of materials.
• Assist setup and operate multiple machines for a variety of machined products.
• Work from drawings, route sheets, schedules, and written/verbal instructions.
• Check material size and type; use micrometers, calipers, scales, and fixed gauges to verify dimensions.
• Install and check safety devices as needed; report faults to supervisor.
