Job summary

Zaniboni Lighting in Clearwater, FL is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to run Okuma lathes, working with aluminum, some plastic and stainless steel to produce simple parts.

The role requires in-process inspection with calipers/micrometers, reading blueprints, performing offset adjustments, and maintaining tolerances while adhering to safety and documentation procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience operating CNC Lathes.
• Experience with CNC Okuma a plus.
• Algebra, Geometry and metric-imperial conversions.
• General knowledge of G-code and M-code.
• Fluent in GD&T and machining blueprint reading.
• Part inspection and quality accountability.
• OSHA 10-hour certification.

Responsibilities

• In-process inspection using calipers and micrometers.
• Adjust offsets and program as needed to maintain tolerances.
• Must read and work from blueprints.
• Apply shop math to verify dimensions.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and coolant checks weekly/monthly.
• Assist with deburring and other tasks to keep parts moving.
• Maintain paperwork and records for produced parts.
• Observe safety policies and work in a safe manner.

Job description

Hours: 10-hour shift (3:00 PM – 1:30 AM), including a 30-minute unpaid
Experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to run jobs on CNC Lathes, working with aluminum, some plastic and stainless steel to make simple parts.

We have Okuma Lathes, running with sub-spindle live tooling and bar feeders.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for in process inspection (utilizing calipers, micrometers)
• Responsible for making adjustments to offsets, and program as needed to maintain tolerances
• Must be able to work off of blueprints
• Must be able to accurately use shop math in checking parts
• Perform basic maintenance to the machines (clean and maintain, no mechanical repairs - weekly and monthly coolant maintenance)
• You will be expected to help around the shop with deburring, tapping, etc as needed to keep parts moving
• Maintain all paperwork associated with producing the part and maintaining company records
• Observe safety policies and procedures and operate in a safe manner

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years experience operating CNC Lathes.
• Experience with CNC Okuma a plus
• Working knowledge of Algebra, Geometry and can do metric to imperial conversions
• General knowledge of G-code and M-code
• Fluent in GD&T and machining blueprint reading
• Skilled in part inspection and accountable to quality of parts
• OSHA 10-hour

Physical Demands:

Must have ability to select, lift, carry and stack products weighing between 30 & 50 pounds. The ability to stand up, while occasionally bending, stooping, twisting and do repetitive work for 2 to 4 hours at a time.

Stations have anti-fatigue mats and stools available when needed.
