Job summary

Peter Paul Electronics Co., Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe setup operator and programmer to join our team in New Britain, CT. The role covers setting up Lathe machines, programming new jobs, and improving existing programs to ensure quality output.

In-house training is provided with 100% reimbursement for external courses. The position offers room for growth and a paid lunch break, with a focus on lean manufacturing and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 5+ years setup experience on CNC machines preferred.
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiar with feeds and speeds.
• Familiar with aluminum, brass, ledloy, 300 series stainless steels (including 316), 430F and 430FR stainless steels.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to make sound decisions and accept responsibility.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Understanding of lean concepts.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC Lathe machines, including Nakamura machines, and operate per process documents.
• Layout, program, set up, and operate as required, using prints and work instructions.
• Change and/or set all required tooling.
• Monitor fixturing and work holding for the machine group.
• Perform 1st piece and in-process inspections.
• Ensure quality of all products on assigned machines.
• Train and supervise operators in the department.
• Adhere to all safety rules and report unsafe acts.
• Complete 5S in the CNC Lathe Department and perform line walks.
• Perform any other duties as directed by supervision.
