Job Duties

Machinist is a member of the Atomic Machine Manufacturing Team and responsible for all activities related to manufacturing machined parts. Machinist operate and maintain machines, run parts, and ensure all parts meet Huish Outdoors's quality and dimensional standards. This position plays a key role on our team producing products that deliver WOW to our customers. Candidates should have an attention to detail and a willingness to jump in and help the team meet deadlines.


  • Deliver on KPIs for the Machine Manufacturing department, including but not limited to, turn-around times, safety, quality, production volumes, accuracy and material use, as guided by your supervisor.
  • Attention to detail and pride in the work to meet Huish Outdoors quality standards, while:
    • Operate machines to fabricate parts using blueprints and precise measurements.
    • Measure, check, and ensure inserts are changed for the machine to fabricate parts needed. Change as needed
    • Inspect tooling for safety and precision. Change as needed.
    • Measure part dimensions using a variety of measuring instruments to ensure they match blueprints.
    • Keep workspace clean to ensure a safe workshop.
  • Candidate should be reliable ensuring minimum loss time and at work with the team to get the work done.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma with 1-5 years work experience in a related position.
  • Ability to read blueprints; understand detailed instruction; perform mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment.
  • Understand and follow blueprints to ensure parts are fabricated to specification.
  • Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English including the ability to provide clear, constructive communication to fellow employees when needed to get the work done correctly and effectively.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills; detail oriented and control minded

Work Schedule

The full-time Machine Operators typically work Monday Friday

Shift Two: 10:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

With overtime as needed to meet production needs.
