Job Description

Setup, operate, and maintain the CNC Lathe work center, along with working with various other CNC equipment to produce machined parts according to blueprints or job routers. This includes using precision instruments to check parts and saws within the facility to specific tolerances.

Job Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain Mori lathe work centers.
• Use standard machine tools including drill presses, saws, lathes, and hand, electric, and pneumatic tools.
• Modify programs within company policy, make adjustments such as tool offsets for new and existing jobs.
• Deburr parts during machining or in separate operations.
• Collaborate with the engineering department.
• Cross-train to learn and perform other duties as necessary.
• Machine parts on Mori lathes, perform own setups, and operate machines.
• Monitor machines for malfunctions and report issues immediately.
• Follow procedures for non-conforming products and safety protocols.
• Read and follow production travelers, sign off documentation, and check parts with gauges.
• May operate other equipment such as CNC vertical/horizontal machines with training provided.

Education, Skills & Experience

• 2-3 years of experience on CNC lathes.
• Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes independently.
• Knowledge of Mori Seiki machines is advantageous.
• Understanding of speeds and feeds, blueprints/drawings, and troubleshooting skills.
• High School Diploma or GED, basic math skills, and ability to use inspection gauges.
• Effective communication, attention to detail, teamwork, and good attendance.

Physical Demands

• Repetitive motions, manual dexterity, standing, sitting, walking, and communication abilities.
• Ability to lift up to 30-75 pounds with assistance if needed.
• Exposure to moving machinery, temperature, humidity changes, dust, fumes, and gases.

Work Environment

The environment involves machining operations requiring safety gear such as respiratory protection and safety glasses, following OSHA regulations.

Salary: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
