Pro Resources is seeking a 1st Shift CNC Lathe Machinist for a client in Avilla, IN. The CNC Machinist will support the machining department by programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe equipment while producing high‑quality parts in a safe and efficient environment. Shift and Compensation

• 1st Shift Monday-Thursday 6AM-4 PM + OT on Friday
• Pay : $23 / hour

Job Duties

• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to determine machining requirements
• Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes, including Mazak equipment
• Load, unload, and monitor parts throughout the machining process
• Perform first‑piece and in‑process inspections using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other measuring tools
• Adjust machine controls as needed to maintain quality standards and tolerances
• Assist with process improvements and development of standard operating procedures
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members when needed
• Work closely with production leadership to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Operate a forklift to move and organize materials and finished products

Background Profile

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 5 years of CNC turning and programming experience
• Experience programming Mazak lathes required
• Strong understanding of tooling, tool maintenance, and machining practices
• Ability to read and use OD and ID micrometers
• Experience indicating parts using a 4‑jaw chuck
• Clausing lathe experience is a plus
• Strong blueprint reading and inspection skills
• Ability to convert fractions and decimals accurately
