Job summary

Reliance, Inc. in Milpitas, CA is seeking a Laser Operator responsible for daily setup, operation and on-time production of defect-free laser-tube-cut parts on CNC machines. You will stage materials, load/unload machines, and keep work areas clean.

The role requires following ISO quality standards, collaborating with team, and maintaining safety. Training provided; attendance and accuracy are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to read drawings.
• Ability to inspect lasercut parts with precision inspection equipment.
• Ability to work well as a team member.
• Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
• Safety conscious behavior.
• Excellent attendance and reliable transportation.
• Ability to complete the laser operator training and pass the laser safety exam.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily startup and shutdown procedures on CNC tubular laser cutting machines.
• Stage raw materials at each work-center for the day’s production.
• Load and unload machines.
• Maintain daily dust collector service in assigned area and report equipment deficiencies.
• Ensure production schedule follow through as allocated by the scheduling department.
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area.
• Facilitate work-order paper flow in accordance with ISO quality standards.
• Check and package parts in accordance with ISO standards if required.
• Monitor gas level supply requirements for daily production.
