Job summary

Friedman Industries Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC laser programmer for our Sinton, TX fabrication operation, just 30 minutes from Corpus Christi. You will convert customer drawings into optimized nests and accurate quotes, collaborating with sales and shop floor to ensure timely delivery.

We’ll train you on our estimating process while you master our laser and press brake workflow. Applicants should have 3+ years programming/nesting experience and CAD/CAM proficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years programming and/or nesting parts for CNC laser, press brake, plasma, waterjet, or similar CNC fabrication equipment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with CAD/CAM software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Excel.
• No estimating experience required — we’ll train the right programmer.

Responsibilities

• Program and nest parts for CNC fiber laser cutting to minimize scrap and maximize material efficiency.
• Review and approve part drawings for manufacturability before they hit the floor.
• Prepare price quotes for laser-processed and fabricated parts (we’ll train you on our quoting process).
• Partner with sales, equipment operators, schedulers, and shipping so parts are processed and delivered on time.
• Track productivity, quality, scrap, and rework, and use those numbers to drive continuous improvement.
