SendCutSend in Reno, NV is seeking a Programmer to keep production running smoothly by developing laser programs, ensuring machines are loaded with appropriate workloads, and nesting parts to prevent tip-ups.

You will optimize nests for efficient cutting, reuse remnants to reduce waste, and collaborate with operators on program details, while supporting a 24/7 laser operation environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in laser cutting, CNC, or similar manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with programmable production equipment.
• Basic understanding of material properties (metals, plastics, composites).
• Knowledge of nesting strategies, tab placement, and material optimization.
• Ability to communicate effectively with machine operators and production partners.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production setting.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain laser programs that support daily production needs.
• Provide operators with the necessary workload to effectively plan and strategize upcoming nests.
• Build and optimize nests to support efficient cutting, material usage, and proper tab placement to prevent parts from flipping during production.
• Pre-measure and strategically utilize remnants to reduce material waste and minimize operator rework.
• Communicate with operators to address programs that require additional information.
• Assist the laser team with denesting or other tasks when all machines are running at full capacity.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
