Job summary

Friedman Industries in Sinton, TX seeks a laser programming specialist to convert customer drawings into optimized nests and accurate quotes. You will work with sales and shop staff to ensure on-time, quality parts using fiber laser and press brake equipment. Training on estimating will be provided for the right candidate.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of CNC programming/nesting, CAD/CAM proficiency, and strong Excel skills, with no prior estimating requirement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years programming and nesting parts for CNC laser, press brake, plasma, or similar equipment.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Program and nest parts for CNC fiber laser cutting to minimize scrap and maximize material efficiency.
• Review and approve part drawings for manufacturability before they hit the floor.
• Prepare price quotes for laser-processed and fabricated parts, with training provided.
• Partner with sales, operators, schedulers, and shipping to ensure on-time delivery.
• Track productivity, quality, scrap, and rework to drive continuous improvement.
