Randstad USA in Mesquite, TX is seeking a CNC Laser Operator I to set up and run CNC Laser or Plasma equipment, reading blueprints and ensuring parts meet tight specs. Responsibilities include material handling with overhead cranes, deburring with grinders, and maintaining 5S in the shop.

CNC Laser Operator I

Location: Mesquite, TX | 75181 Pay Rate: ($18.00 – $19.00) + $1 with 2nd shift differential

Available Shifts

• 2nd Shift: Mon–Thu, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM (Overtime/Fridays as needed)
• Weekend Shift: Fri–Sun, 4:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Work 36 hours, get paid for 40! Overtime Mon/Thu as needed)

What You’ll Do

• Operation & Setup: Set up and run CNC Laser or Plasma equipment (Mazak, Amada, etc.) to produce parts that meet tight customer specs.
• Material Handling: Load sheet metal onto machines using overhead cranes and remove finished parts safely.
• Quality & Finishing: Read blueprints, measure parts, and use power grinders to deburr finished components.
• Shop Maintenance: Complete job traveler paperwork, clean machines/tooling, and maintain 5S standards.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience operating CNC Laser or Plasma cutting machinery (Mazak, Amada, or similar).
• Skills: Ability to read blueprints, tape measures, and handheld precision measuring tools. Basic shop math skills required.
• Physical Capability: Ability to stand for long periods, stoop, kneel, and safely lift up to 100 lbs in a dynamic fabrication shop environment.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Produce machined part(s), using a CNC Mill or Lathe, and consistently meeting or exceeding customer specifications, including tolerances, structural and aesthetic requirements of the part(s).
• Follow Anchor safety procedures to ensure a safe workplace for self and others, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Ensure appropriate paperwork and system entries are completed, including traveler allocation and first part tags
• Ensure proper set up of machine and tooling for each job.
• Use overhead crane to move material into and around machine and remove finished parts from machine
• Use handheld power grinder to deburr parts.
• Clean machine, tooling and work area at end of each shift
• Other 5S initiatives as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes
• manual lifting up to 100lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
