Job summary

H3 Manufacturing Group, LLC is seeking a CNC Laser Operator for the 2nd shift in Fisher, IL. You will prepare and operate Trumpf laser cutting machines to support production. This full-time role runs 4pm to 2:30am Monday-Thursday and offers pay from $21 to $26 per hour, with a 10% second-shift differential.

ITAR compliance and US Persons requirement apply. Candidates should have strong mechanical knowledge, blueprint reading, GD&T familiarity, and experience with laser programming and quality

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge and manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
• Proficiency in laser cutting and programming.
• Familiarity with GD&T and precision measuring instruments.
• Basic math skills and ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform set-up inspections, first piece inspections and all subsequent inspections.
• Read work orders to determine specifications (materials, cutting lines, dimensions, tolerances).
• Use measuring tools like micrometers, height gauges and bore gauges.
• Set-up, adjust and prepare punch/laser combinations of jobs.
• Ensure material is loaded into the laser and machine controls are set to schedule.
• Perform deburring of parts as needed.

Position Overview:

The CNC Laser Operator will prepare and operate Trumpf laser cutting machine(s) to support production team(s) in accordance with company specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform set-up inspections, first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections.
• Adjust and prepare punch/laser combinations of jobs, read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances.
• Be comfortable using measuring tools to complete tasks (micrometers, height gages and bore gages).
• Set-up, adjust and prepare punch/laser combinations of jobs
• Ensure material is loaded into the laser, and the machine control is set-up to run to schedule
• Deburring parts with file or grinder as needed
• Perform set-up inspections, first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections

Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical knowledge and manufacturing experience
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing drawings
• Proficiency in laser cutting and programming
• Familiarity with GD&T and precision measuring instruments, including bore gauges and micrometers
• Basic math skills and ability to read blueprints
• Experience with hand tools, fabrication, and quality inspection
• Knowledge of machining processes, including CNC and press brake operation

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a 10-hour shift.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, and grasp.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery and measuring equipment.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Regular exposure to machinery, metal materials, and industrial noise.
• Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to meet production demands.
