Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) in Chambersburg, PA is seeking a Maintenance Machinery Mechanic to install, troubleshoot, repair, test, and maintain CNC, laser, and multi-axis production equipment on-site.

You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic failures; perform alignment and calibration; and use lathes, grinders, drill presses, welding tools to ensure peak equipment performance and safe operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of maintenance/mechanics experience in industrial settings.
• Willingness to work on-site in Chambersburg, PA and operate varied equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, tests, and maintains CNC, laser, and multi-axis production equipment.
• Performs major mechanical repairs on lathes, milling machines, drill presses, laser cutters, and more.
• Diagnoses mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic failures.
• Conducts alignment, calibration, and precision adjustments on electromechanical systems.
• Repairs and maintains conventional and electronically controlled machinery.
• Disassembles, replaces, and reinstalls damaged parts and assemblies.
• Uses machine tools such as lathes, grinders, drill presses, saws, welding equipment.
• Uses micrometers, dial indicators, vibration analyzers, flow meters, and alignment scopes for diagnostics.
• Interprets relationships between mechanical systems and electronic controls to ensure proper operation.
• Plans work sequences, determines repair requirements, and identifies parts and materials.
• Maintains hydraulic, pneumatic, fluidic, and automated machinery systems.
• Operates equipment in manual and automatic modes to verify functionality after repairs.
• Supports repair and maintenance of electro-beam welders, dynamic balancers, press brakes, and testers.
• Maintains safe operation standards; forklift license may be obtained as required.
