Job summary

ARCH Global Holdings in Woburn, MA, seeks a skilled CNC technician to operate production equipment, diagnose failures, troubleshoot to electronic and mechanical component levels, and perform repairs on a rotating schedule.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's degree in mechanical or electrical disciplines (or equivalent military/technical training) and about 5 years' experience on CNC production machines, with ability to read blueprints and machine drawings and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in mechanical or electrical disciplines preferred or equivalent military/technical training.
• About 5 years related experience and/or training on CNC production machines or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints and machine drawings.
• Ability to use electronic test equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, amp meter, and meg meter.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment as required in order to diagnose failure.
• Troubleshoots equipment to the electronic and/or mechanical component level and dismantles equipment as required to make repairs.
• Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
• Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches.
• Validates repair of machines and equipment following repair.
• Troubleshoots electrical components and must be able to measure AC and DC voltages and interpret machine system drawings.
• Provides support and training for the machinists and machine operators.
• Develops and maintains the preventive maintenance list for each machine and performs the preventative maintenance as required.
• Schedules repairs using outside suppliers as required.
• Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
