Job summary

Hyperion Materials & Technologies in Latrobe, PA seeks a CNC Grinder to set up, program and operate grinding machines to customer blueprints. You will document procedures, inspect parts and ensure conformance using micrometers, calipers and CMMs.

Responsibilities include communicating with department leaders, tracking throughput, selecting tooling, writing CNC programs (G-Code/MasterCAM), and helping implement world-class manufacturing practices while maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to analyze specifications and select tooling according to grinding procedures.
• Must study blueprints or layouts to visualize grinding and plan operations.
• Knowledge of machining processes in carbide and ceramic industries.
• Good safety practices and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate CNC grinding machines per procedures.
• Grind parts to customer blueprint specifications using appropriate inspection tools.
• Write CNC programs using G-Code, MasterCAM or manufacturer code.
• Inspect dimensions with micrometers, calipers and CMMs, using two methods of inspection.
• Communicate status with Department Leaders and assist in workflow through the department.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and perform basic machine maintenance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement programs and safe work procedures.
