Barnes Aerospace in East Hartford, CT is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to operate multi-axis milling machines in a high-precision aerospace environment. You will set up jobs, verify part conformance to blueprints, and read tolerances on work instructions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in aerospace machining, CNC experience with FANUC controls, and strong math and problem-solving skills. This full-time on-site role offers hourly wages from $23 to $42 plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of experience operating CNC multi-axis milling machines.
• Surface grinding experience and numerical control proficiency.
• Proficiency in FANUC and/or CNC controls and job setup/changeover.
• Strong math, mechanical ability, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate complex milling jobs with minimal supervision ensuring parts conform to specifications and requirements.
• Make necessary modifications or adjustments.
• Read and understand standard and geometric tolerances on blueprints and work instructions/operations sheets.
• Verify dimensions using micrometers, depth gauges, height gauges and dial calipers.
• Hold tight tolerances associated with the machining of precision parts.

Your Expertise:

• 5+ years of experience in an aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment
• 3+ years of experience operating CNC multi-axis milling machines
• Surface grinding experience
• Proficiency in FANUC and/or CNC controls
• Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment
• Exceptional mechanical ability and strong mathematical skills
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve complex issues

Salary: $23 - $42 per hour
