Barnes Aerospace East Hartford is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for first shift in East Hartford, CT. You will run 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling and turning machines, set up jobs, and work with hard metals like inconel, titanium, and stainless steel.

The role requires 5+ years in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing, 3+ years operating CNC multi-axis mills, proficiency with GD&T, reading blueprints, and strong math skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of experience operating CNC multi-axis milling machines.
• Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment.
• GD&T knowledge and tight tolerance work.
• Read and interpret blueprints and operation sheets.

Responsibilities

• Run 3, 4 and 5 axis milling and turning machines.
• Operate multiple CNC machines where possible.
• Work with hard metals such as inconel, titanium and stainless steel.
• Read and interpret symbols on operation sheets and set up tools.
• Use precision measuring tools to verify tolerances.
• Load fixtures onto hoists and load parts to machines.
• Interpret tool sheets and setup tools for each job.

1st shift: Monday - Friday7:00am-3:30pm

Your Expertise:

• 5+ years of experience in an aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment - aerospace preferred
• 3+ years of experience operating CNC multi-axis milling machine preferred
• Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment.
• Exceptional mechanical ability and strong mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve complex issues.

• Run 3, 4 and 5 axis milling and/or turning machines
• Operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously where possible/feasible as most machines are part of manufacturing cells/machining centers
• Work with hard metals such as inconel, titanium and stainless steel
• Read and interpret symbols on operation sheets
• Proficient in mathematics and be able to use a calculator
• Use Fanuc controls and make offsets as required by the program
• Load fixtures onto hoists and operate hoist to load part onto machine
• Read blueprints and interpret CNC Programs at the machine
• Interpret tool sheets and set up tools for use on a job or part
• Use precision measuring tools such as gauges, swing gauges, calipers, and micrometers
• Familiarity with operation of right-angle heads
• Have Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge
• Possess the ability to work within tight tolerances such as thousandths

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Salary: $23/hour - $42/hour
