Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an entry level General Machinist C to operate and set up CNC and conventional machines, reading engineering drawings and tolerances to produce precise parts. You will work with fixtures, robotics, and automation to meet requirements, perform quality checks, and support rework and deburring as needed.

The position requires a HS diploma, up to two years of experience or equivalent training, and the ability to lift 30 lbs and stand for several hours.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Six (6) months to two (2) years' experience or equivalent trades training.
• Ability to operate CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings using GD&T.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Must have the ability to work 1st or 2nd shift according to the collective bargaining agreement.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs unassisted and stand for up to 4 hours.
• Candidates must be a US Citizen as this role is at a site that requires special access.

Responsibilities

• Performing machining operations using computer numerically controlled machines, lathes, mills, and grinders
• Setting up and operating machines with standard fixtures, robotics, and automation
• Inspecting and measuring machined parts for accuracy using precision measuring equipment
• Performing rework, cleaning, and deburring of parts to facilitate machining operations
