Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, with 5–7 years related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Experience setting up and operating precision gear grinding machines with indexing equipment.
• Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 14001 quality standards.
• Ability to read gauges (thickness gauges, dial indicators) and micrometers accurately.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and wear PPE.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sets up automatic dressing device to dress wheel to specified profile.
• Sets rotation speeds and feed rates on controls.
• Positions and secures workpiece on mandrel or chuck and checks with measuring tools.
• Directs coolant flow to wheel and workpiece as required.
• Indices workpiece and adjusts depth of cut by sight and feel.
• Verifies ground part dimensions against specifications.
• Grinds metallic materials and changes worn tools; cleans machine and tooling.
• Operates bench grinder to sharpen tools and performs light maintenance.
