Summary of Responsibilities:
A Field Service Technician is a key member of the Customer Support Department, primarily responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Lathe, Milling, and Multi-Functional Machining Centers. We seek customer-focused professionals with a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and excellent customer service skills. This role offers opportunities for technical advancement and growth in compensation.
What You Will Contribute:
- Travel daily from home to customer facilities, with occasional overnight stays for remote locations or training programs.
- Assist and collaborate effectively with team members and customers.
- Install, commission, calibrate, maintain, diagnose, and repair CNC equipment and accessories at customer sites. Service calls include operator training, system networking, software support, preventive maintenance, major component replacements, overhauls, upgrades, retrofits, and uninstallation services.
- Maintain clear communication between customers and the Service Group of Morris Group.
- Provide feedback from customers to improve service and build brand loyalty.
- Practice safety, continually learn new technologies and soft skills.
- Utilize technical manuals, documents, and authorities for diagnosing and resolving CNC equipment issues.
- Effectively use Salesforce Lightning Customer Support system.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build customer relationships.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Adaptability to change and problem-solving skills.
- Basic digital literacy, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Willingness to learn electro-mechanical skills related to motors, drives, transformers, etc.
- Knowledge of machine tool manufacturing, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to manufacturing and machining environments with potential hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, and heavy equipment.
