Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician for Aspen River Park Apartments, a 261-unit affordable community in Newark, NJ. You will perform technical and mechanical work to ensure the buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet safety, cleanliness, and appearance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete work orders by diagnosing issues and making repairs following safety standards and codes
  • Manage materials, supplies, and tools, tracking inventory and reordering as needed
  • Perform general maintenance on the property efficiently and to quality standards
  • Maintain positive resident relations through fair treatment
  • Inspect the property daily for maintenance needs
  • Follow preventative maintenance schedules
  • Assist in achieving occupancy goals and ensuring resident satisfaction
  • Contribute ideas for maintenance improvements
  • Participate in after-hours and emergency coverage rotation
  • Use and maintain power tools and mechanical equipment safely
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of maintenance experience in a multi-family affordable housing setting
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and participate in on-call duties
  • Own hand tools (some provided by the company)
  • Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and appliance repair
  • Strong customer service, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Valid driver’s license
Preferred Skills
  • Basic plumbing and electrical repair knowledge
