Job summary

Searchmasters Inc. is seeking a hands-on leader to head a team of 5 Manufacturing/Process Engineers and 1 Engineering Technician in a CNC shop supporting aerospace and defense parts. You will guide machining operations, develop new products, and implement lean manufacturing principles on the shop floor.

The role emphasizes CNC programming expertise, tooling design, and automation using FANUC robots, with close collaboration to customer engineering for NPI, schedules, and design changes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading 5+ person manufacturing teams in CNC environments.
• Aerospace and/or military machined parts experience preferred.
• BS degree or higher preferred for engineering leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 5 Mfg/Process Engineers plus 1 Engineering Technician in a CNC shop.
• Direct machining functions and guide new product development and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Provide hands-on CNC programming and tooling design to optimize production.
• Automate processes and troubleshoot on the shop floor.
• Serve as technical liaison with customer engineering for NPI, project timelines, and design changes.
• Drive automation initiatives using FANUC robots across the plant.
• Coordinate shop activities and resources to meet production goals.

Job Description

• Lead and manage a team of 5 Manufacturing/Process Engineers and 1 Engineering Technician within a CNC manufacturing environment
• Direct all machining functions and guide the team in developing new products, solutions, and lean manufacturing processes
• Provide hands-on expertise in CNC programming and tooling design to optimize production capabilities
• Automate processes and deliver troubleshooting and technical assistance on the shop floor
• Serve as the primary technical liaison with the customer engineering department to support New Part Introduction (NPI), project management, timelines, and design implementation
• Drive automation initiatives utilizing FANUC robots throughout the plant
• Coordinator

Key Requirements

• Proficiency in MasterCam (open to other CAM software) and SolidWorks for tooling and fixture design
• Experience with FANUC robotics, including pick-and-place applications
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining operations including Lathes, Mills, and some Swiss-type machines
• Demonstrated experience with aerospace and/or military machined parts manufacturingBachelor's degree (BS) preferred
