Job summary

Great Lakes Stainless is seeking a CNC cutting operator in Michigan with 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing or related areas. You will set up and operate a machine to cut metal sheets, read blueprints, and follow job travelers.

You may also assist in assembly, pickups, and packaging as needed, with potential shift-based varied tasks. The role requires basic measurement and blueprint-reading skills, attendance at standard safety practices, and willingness to perform additional tasks as

Qualifications

Must read blueprints, read a tape measure, and fill out inventory sheets.
0-2 years of experience in manufacturing or a related area.
Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

Makes or sets up a machine to cut metal sheets and operates it efficiently.
Maintains accurate counts of flat stock inventories and materials management.
Loads correct material onto the CNC and minimizes errors.
Distributes prints to next department and returns program sheets after cutting.
Unloads materials and keeps stock organized.
Processes job orders on time with proper job numbers per machine schedule.
Logs labor time in the shop management system for accurate reporting.
Performs preventive maintenance on cutting equipment.
Places orders for consumables as needed and keeps area clean at shift end.
Performs other duties as required, including assembly, pickup/delivery, and packaging.
