Acushnet Company is seeking a CNC/CAM Project Engineer to design and prototype next‑generation golf components. You will use NX CAD and 5‑axis CNC machining to transform concepts into functional parts, optimizing designs for manufacturability and ensuring seamless transition from prototype to production.
You will collaborate with R&D engineers to solve complex challenges, weld and fixture prototypes, and contribute to patentable innovations that advance product performance.
Join a team that values excellence and innovation, at a company known for its iconic golf brands. At Acushnet Company, your background and experience contribute to creating the best products for dedicated golfers worldwide. Here, your performance has purpose.
Design the future of golf innovation as a CNC/CAM Project Engineer, where you'll transform cutting-edge concepts into functional prototypes that drive next-generation product development. In this hands‑on engineering role, you will leverage NX CAD modeling and advanced 5-axis CNC machining to design, program, and manufacture prototype club heads, components, and precision fixtures that support R&D and innovation initiatives. Working closely with engineers throughout the development process, you will optimize designs for manufacturability, develop machining strategies, determine cutting parameters for a variety of metal alloys, and apply expertise in welding, adhesives, castings, coatings, composites, and joint design to solve complex engineering challenges. You will also help bridge prototype development to large‑scale manufacturing by providing design recommendations, creating fixturing solutions, maintaining CNC shop operations, and contributing to patentable innovations that advance product performance and technology.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required; equivalent professional experience in CNC/CAM engineering, machining, and prototype development may be considered in lieu of a degree.
3+ years of CAD/CAM programming experience, preferably using Siemens NX (Unigraphics) or comparable software such as SDRC or Delcam.
3+ years of CNC machining experience, including operation of CNC mills, lathes, and manual mills and lathes.
3+ years of welding experience, with the ability to support prototype development and fabrication projects.
Pay Range: $90,018.00-$112,391.00
Tell me about a complex prototype machining project you programmed and machined from concept to finished part.
