Job summary

Morris Midwest, a division of Morris Group, Inc., seeks a motivated Preventative Maintenance Technician to support customers with CNC machining solutions in Crystal Lake, IL. You will engage in pre-sale activities, provide turnkey proposals, and program CNC equipment to demonstrate capabilities.

The role emphasizes strong machining skills, CAD/CAM software know‑how, and customer-facing demonstrations, with travel across the regional territory. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong hands‑on machining background with at least 3 years of experience with CNC machines.
• Experience on Swiss and Okuma controls is a plus.
• Proven solid understanding of CAD/CAM software is vital.
• MasterCam, Esprit and SolidWorks experience is a plus.
• Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal skills required.
• Frequent travel throughout our regional territory.

Responsibilities

• Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposals.
• Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications.
• Programming and setting up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills, and Swiss style lathes.
• Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss style lathes and/ or multi-tasking machines.
• Maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company.
