Job summary

Actalent is seeking a CNC Application Engineer to ensure operational capability of Murata CNC systems and load/unload automation. You will travel to customer facilities for installations, acceptance runs, and operator training, while applying CAD/CAM tooling and Fanuc software to develop robust engineering solutions.

The role requires hands-on programming, tooling setup, and process validation to meet strict quality and cycle-time targets.

Qualifications

Bachelors-level degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
7+ years of CNC metal cutting/milling/turning experience.
Proficiency with SolidWorks and MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of tooling and end-user applications across automotive, aerospace, medical, consumer sectors.

Responsibilities

Install probes, tooling, fixtures for turnkey or demo projects.
Create CNC programs manually or with CadCam software.
Set up machines and validate processes to meet quality and cycle-time targets.
Train customer operators and provide training materials.
Travel to customer sites domestically and internationally for runoffs and installations.
Troubleshoot machine issues including surface finish, chip control, and tool life.
Support Proposal Engineering in selecting tooling for projects.
