Job summary

Weiss-Aug is seeking a skilled CNC Advanced Machinist for the 2nd shift at our New Kensington, PA facility. You will set up and operate a broad range of CNC and manual machines to meet exact specs, reading blueprints and correcting issues to ensure high-quality output.

The role involves tool alignment, program edits on CNCs, and mentoring teammates while advancing continuous improvement initiatives within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certificate from a vocational school a plus
• 3–5 years of CNC machine setup experience (preferred) and manual machining
• Familiarity with CNC programming and CAD/CAM software
• Understanding of machine changeovers and adjustments
• Reading technical drawings and executing from drawings
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating lathes, cutters, borers, millers, grinders, presses, drills, and CNC machines
• Aligning tools, gears, cams, and templates to exact specifications
• Performing test cycles to verify timing, clearance, and tolerances
• Troubleshooting and resolving machine setup issues
• Making program edits and adjustments directly on CNC machines
• Reading blueprints and layouts to plan work sequences and tooling
• Training and mentoring team members as needed
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives like kaizen and cycle time reduction
