Job summary

First Atlantic Healthcare in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine is seeking CNAs for our Weekend Warrior program. You must enroll for 26 consecutive weekends and work a minimum of three 12-hour shifts (or two 16-hour shifts) per weekend.

You'll earn a $3.00 per hour weekend premium, plus comprehensive benefits for full-time (medical, dental, vision, life, disability) and a 401(k) with employer contributions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of state-approved CNA program and listed on the Maine CNA Registry.
• Provides patient care and supports daily living activities as part of nursing team.
• Maintains patient safety, privacy, and documentation according to policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (eating, mobility, hygiene).
• Assist with showering, dressing, grooming, toileting.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to nursing staff.
• Transport patients and respond to call lights promptly.
• Maintain records and adhere to policies and procedures.

Weekend Warrior Program

An every weekend scheduling option to CNAs newly hired in the Nursing department on a limited basis. Employees must make a commitment to enroll in the program for twenty-six (26) consecutive weekends (six months). During this period, the employee will be scheduled to work a minimum of three (3) twelve (12) hour or two(2) sixteen (16) hour shifts per weekend. For the purpose of defining this program, the “weekend” begins on Friday at 6:30am and ends on Monday evening at 7:00pm.

A Certified Nursing Assistant’s Job Responsibilities

• Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.


• Assistance with showering/bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.


• Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs.


• Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients’ call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.


• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.


• Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.


• Protects organization’s value by keeping patient information confidential.


• Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements.


• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations, and maintaining licensure.


• Enhances nursing department and hospital reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

CNA Requirements

• Must be a graduate of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program and on the Maine CNA Registry.

• Must be able interact our computer-based Electronic Medical Record system.
