Job summary

Hibbard Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, seeks a Registered Nurse for our RN Weekend Warrior program. You will support residents with high-quality nursing care, maintain accurate records, administer medications, and monitor patient conditions as part of a collaborative clinical team.

The role runs 26 consecutive weekends with three 12-hour shifts per weekend, Friday 6:30am to Monday 7:00pm.

Qualifications

• RN required with an AS or BS in nursing
• CPR certification required; ACLS certification preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to work with a team

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, complete health care records and reports
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects
• Record vital signs and monitor patient conditions; report changes promptly
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests as needed
• Develop and adjust care plans with the healthcare team

RN Weekend Warrior

An every weekend scheduling option to RNs newly hired in the Nursing department on a limited basis. Employees must make a commitment to enroll in the program for twenty-six (26) consecutive weekends (six months). During this period, the employee will be scheduled to work a minimum of three (3) twelve (12) hour shifts per weekend.

RN Weekend Warrior

For the purpose of defining this program, the "weekend" begins on Friday at 6:30am and ends on Monday evening at 7:00pm.

May take 2 (non-consecutive) weekends off during the 26 weekend contract.

We are looking for a registered nurse to join our nursing staff in providing excellent health care to our residents. Your duty of caring for the residents coming into our facility include tasks like creating and maintaining accurate patient records, administering medication and monitoring for side effects, recording vital signs, and reporting symptoms and changes in patient conditions.

A bachelor's degree in nursing and a state license are essential requirements for consideration. You will also need to be trained in BLS/CPR and be ACLS-certified. A professional, friendly attitude and effective communication skills are keys to becoming successful in this role.

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports.
• Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions.
• Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments.
• Recording patient vital signs and medical information.
• Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests.
• Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
• Administering non-intravenous medications.
• Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
• Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses.

RN Requirements

AS or BS degree in nursing

• Must be currently registered/licensed in Maine.
• Must have CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
• Knowledge and use of Electronic Medical Records and/or solid computer skills
• Strong communication skills, both in writing and verbally
• Effective leadership skills and/or ability to invest in growing this skill
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
