Job summary

Texhoma Christian Care Center is seeking a CNA Van Driver to transport residents to appointments and assist with daily living activities. This role involves performing nursing procedures as needed and ensuring residents’ safety throughout shifts.

Applicants must hold a Texas CNA license, be at least 21, and maintain a valid TX driver’s license with a clean record. Strong mobility and reliability are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Texas licensure as a Certified Nurse Aide and meet training and certification requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Capable of lifting and moving residents and equipment per safety guidelines.
• Ability to perform writing and typing tasks; good hand-eye coordination.

Ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting residents to appointments and/or off-campus activities; and responsible for performing nursing procedures and patient care tasks and assisting residents/patients with activities of daily living, as needed.

Position Requirements

• Must hold current Texas licensure as a Certified Nurse Aide. Completes and/or meets training, certification required by Texhoma and Texas Department of Health and Human Services.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects, and to assist seniors who require some physical assistance.
• Ability to perform moderately difficult manipulation such as writing, typing; foot and hand-eye coordination required.
• Position requires bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, climbing, kneeling, walking and standing over 75% of shift.
• Ability to recognize differences in sound generated by equipment or machinery which may indicate operating problems or safety concerns.
• Ability to hear and receive verbal instructions, answer telephones, communicate with people in situations with some background noise.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment under broad certified nursing care guidelines.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Ability to meet emotional and physical demands of residents/patients.
• Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally.
• Sufficient good health to properly discharge duties.
• Ability to comply with Resident/Patient rights, all state/federal regulatory requirements, and all company policies and procedures.
• Ability to attend general orientation session and attend department orientation.
• Submit to TB Tine Test and return as instructed to read results or provide results of current TB Tine Test in the last 12 months.
• Must be employable by the Texas Nurse Aide Registry (NAR) – cannot be listed on the NAR as revoked; and cannot be considered unemployable by the Employee Misconduct Registry (EMR).
• Cannot be convicted of a criminal offense listed in the Texas Health and Safety Code (THSC), §250.006(a), or convicted of a criminal offense listed in THSC, §250.006(b) within the five years immediately before your application date.
