Job summary

SMP Health - Ave Maria in Jamestown, ND is seeking a positive, energetic Certified Nursing Assistant to provide CNA care in an Assisted Living setting and support additional duties, including meal service, social hour activities, bathing assistance, and other assigned tasks.

This part-time position averages 18-20 hours per week with evenings 3:00-8:00 p.m., every other weekend 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and occasional PRN overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

Assisted Living - CNA/UA

We are seeking a positive, energetic individual who enjoys working with older adults.

Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant who will provide CNA care and support additional Assisted Living duties, including meal service in the dining room, helping with social hour, bathing assistance, and other assigned tasks.

This part-time position averages 18-20 hours per week. The schedule includes two to three evenings per week from 3:00-8:00 p.m., every other weekend from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and PRN availability for an occasional overnight shift.

Essential Functions As a CNA

• The CNA is responsible for providing personal hygiene needs, including assisting with dressing and undressing, grooming, skin care, full or partial bathing, and shower transfers. The CNA documents on tenants conditions clearly and concisely and in a timely manner. This position is responsible for notifying the Director of Nursing of any noticeable changes in the tenants condition. The CNA communicates with families, when appropriate, regarding tenants condition and circumstances.
• This position is responsible to perform delegated nursing procedures, including oral medications/eye drops or assistance when instructed by the Director of Nursing to perform these procedures either verbally or in writing, and demonstrates competence in doing procedures.
• The CNA may be responsible for scheduling and/or performing evening and weekend activities, i.e., movies, games, etc. The CNA is also responsible for providing additional housekeeping or dietary services as needed.
• This position is responsible for performing safety and infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe, organized, and clean environment for the tenants and staff. This includes understanding and following procedures relating to emergencies, wandering tenants, fire, severe weather, evacuation, universal precautions, infection control procedures, and safe operation of any equipment used. The CNA always uses proper body mechanics, and promptly responds to calls and alarm systems. The CNA keeps the tenant rooms neat and orderly.
• The CNA is responsible for attending and actively participating in work, meetings, and in-services to be current, knowledgeable, able to maintain certification, and to contribute to the tenants highest level of functioning and serves on various committees within the facility. Responsible for completing quality assurance records as requested by management.

Essential Functions As a UA

• This position is responsible for setting up and helping with meals/snacks, seating and serving tenants and cleaning up after meal service.
• Assists CMAs with doing comfort checks on the tenants, making sure all needs are met.
• The Universal Assistant is responsible to clean and maintain any and all dining room and kitchen items and areas. This includes sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, washing, and scrubbing, as appropriate, and collecting and disposing of waste. The Universal Assistant cleans and maintains all equipment to ensure they are in good working order, and notifies indicated person to repair equipment, as necessary.
