Job summary

Providence Little Company Of Mary Torrance Hospital in Torrance, CA seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant for Transitional Care. This is a full-time night shift position in a sub-acute/transitional care unit.

The CNA performs delegated routine patient care tasks under supervision, including phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs, monitoring, transport and basic care. California CNA certification, CPR Level C, and BLS are required. Applicants with 6 months of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of a basic CPR course (Level C).
• California Nursing Assistant Certification License required on hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association required on hire.
• 6 months of experience in a skilled nursing facility, medical/surgical setting, or with chronically ill patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated routine patient care tasks under supervision of a Charge Nurse.
• Conduct phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs, monitoring and basic patient care.
• Assist with transportation of patients within the unit and to other departments.
• Respond to patient and family needs with age-appropriate care (Young Adult through Geriatric).

The Certified Nursing Assistant (Sub-Acute/Transitional) role is a non-licensed health care employee who performs delegated routine and predictable patient care tasks/duties and works under the direct supervision of a Charge Nurse. These duties may include, but are not limited to phlebotomy, EKG's, vital signs, monitoring, basic patient care and transportation. Responds appropriately to patients and families with knowledge of age specific needs based on scope of service of unit/department where assigned (Young Adult through Geriatric).
