Job summary

Providence Little Company Of Mary Torrance is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant to join as a per diem Day shift caregiver. The role includes basic patient care tasks, EKGs, vital signs, and patient transport under the direct supervision of an RN.

Required California CNA certification plus BLS, with preference for candidates having hospital or post-acute experience. Per diem hours offer flexibility while supporting a Magnet-recognized facility and a patient-centered culture.

Qualifications

• California Nursing Assistant Certification License required at hire.
• BLS - American Heart Association certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide delegated routine patient care under RN supervision.
• Perform EKGs, monitor vital signs, and assist with patient transport as needed.
• Respond to patients and families with appropriate age-specific communication.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) role is a health care employee who performs delegated routine and predictable patient care tasks/duties and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). These duties may include, but are not limited to EKGs, vital signs, basic patient care and transportation. Responds appropriately to patients and families with knowledge of age-specific needs based on scope of service of unit/department where assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Sufficient for certification.
• Upon hire: California Nursing Assistant Certification License
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of previous Certified Nursing Assistant experience in a hospital or post acute environment.
